Brew for Two!

Brew for Two!

Happy Thursday, tea lovers! Are you feeling the love today? I certainly am! One thing I am really looking forward to today is brewing my beloved a cup of his favorite tea!

We haven't spoken too much about how wonderful brewing a cup of tea for another person can be. It is a beautiful act of service. Going through the process of picking out tea, steeping it, preparing it in cups, and then enjoying it together with someone you love is something that can be absolutely wonderful. I suppose what I'm trying to say is, we often forget the romance behind tea preparation for another person.

We've written to you before on the book "The 5 Love Languages; the Secret to Love That Lasts" by Gary Chapman. In this book (which I highly recommend) Chapman outlines his ideas about the five languages of love being words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service, and physical touch. For the purpose of this blog, we'll just touch upon "acts of service".
Making tea for someone you love is an absolutely lovely act of service to which we would love to help you all do! If someone you care for has just woken up in the morning, how splendid would it be to start their day with a cup of our tea? Or perhaps, maybe they are facing a few more challenges than normal throughout their day? A warm cup of tea, made for them, by you, could be exactly what they need to turn their day around. Lastly, my favorite way to prepare tea for my paramour is just before the end of the night. Before he leaves my house, it is not out of the ordinary for him to ask if I can make him a cup of either our Sleep Better or Gentle Slumber. I so enjoy that he feels that he can ask me to do so, and it makes me feel, even more so, that I am bringing something special to our relationship.
As I make his cup of whatever he has chosen on this particular night, we laugh about things that have happened throughout the day or in days prior. We hold hands as the water boils in my kettle and then giggle when I add a few extra sugar crystals to his cup because I know of his insatiable sweet tooth. As I pour the tea into his cup, I relish in the fact that I am making something for him to keep his spirits and stomach warm on the chilly drive home. I smile, with so much love in my heart for this man, as I watch his eyes close over the top of the cup while sipping. These moments of magic are made possible by way of the simple act of brewing tea. We want you to have these moments with your amore and, even more so, we want to be a part of this love through our tea!
As mentioned, if you want to start steeping for your dearie in the wee hours of the morning, we recommend something like our Citron Green tea. This tea, sourced from China, will surely start their day on a high note as it is moderately high in caffeine, has citrus notes to awaken the senses, and isn't the "grassy" flavor that is often expected from green teas. Clean, light, lemon-y yet sweet, and bright, brewing this tea for your beau will not only bring them joy, but you as well!
If the apple of your eye is finding that it is just one of those days that they can't catch a break, we recommend a cup of our Last Mango in Paris. This tea, being a tisane, doesn't contain caffeine and can therefore be brewed at anytime without risk of being kept up too late. It also carries a pungent scent to it, so whilst steeping, they will smell the surprise that is on there way! It is a tropical blend of  luscious mango, juicy orange, apple, flowery hibiscus, elderberries, and rosehips that don’t lie! Just the the smell of this tea will brighten, even the darkest of days!
If you find the right moment to make a cup of tea for someone special to you, please share it with us. Let us know which tea you chose and the sentiment behind making this for a loved one. Doing this for them will show them that you are taking your own time to do something kind, specifically for them. If you make this part of your daily routine, it, in turn, dedicates a specific part of your day to them and shows that you want to honor them each day. Enjoy your brew for two! - Kaytea :)
