You might consider getting 2 pitchers.

Cold Steeping Ice Tea

If you've heard of cold-brewed coffee, this is the tea equivalent.  This pitcher allows you to brew iced tea without ever boiling water.  Add your tea (which should be just enough to cover the bottom of the pitcher), and pour in water straight from your tap.  Then, put the lid back on, and leave in it your refrigerator for 2-6 hours.  Without ever boiling the water, you have tea.  The whole process should involve about 40 seconds of effort on your part.  Furthermore, because the water is never boiling, we've found that black and green teas tend to be a little less bitter.  If you're the sort of person who makes tea, and then immediately forgets about it, this is the pitcher for you, because you cannot over steep your tea.  When cold-steeping tea, you can leave the leaves in for as long as you like, and they will not turn bitter.

The Iced Tea Jug

The key to a good cup of tea, other than having great leaves, using clean water, and following the steeping instructions, is having a large infuser basket.  This jug has the largest infuser possible, because the entire jug is the infuser.  Leaves float throughout the pitcher, and are only strained out just as the tea is poured, by the strainer lid.

If you find that you simply do not have the time to cold-steep your tea right now, this pitcher can still help.  It is made of borosilicate glass, which means that you can pour boiling water straight into it, brew your tea the old-fashioned way, and then add ice cubes, for iced tea in under ten minutes.

Beautiful and Lightweight

Have you ever picked up a glass pitcher and wished you had abs of a Soviet weight lifter?  No worries. This pitcher is super light-weight - like fine crystal stemware and just as elegant.  The pitcher is hand blown true borosilicate glass with graceful modern lines. The handle is large enough for the big guys, yet looks wonderfully proportioned.  This ice tea jug will remain clear unlike plastic jugs which tend to become cloudy after continued use.

Because you're a gourmet ice tea maker, you may want to add cut fruit or lemons to your tea or make a fruit infusion The crystal clear glass will beautifully show off your iced tea and with no worries when you pour. No lemon seeds or chunks of ice will be spoiling your summer vibe. The lid is held in place by two sturdy silicone rings and a super fine (.05 MM) stainless steel, laser-cut straining filter at the top to hold back your fruit, tea leaves, and ice. Your smooth pour will keep things tidy to keep your party rocking.

Ever use an open pitcher and have to keep it covered to keep the bugs out?  Not with this pitcher.  You don't even have to align the lid to the spout to pour. Just snug it in place. The fine mesh will keep even the smallest of fruit flies from invading your tea.

Great Design Deserves A Splash Of Color

Pick from many fabulous vibrant colors to match your tea, your fruit infusion, your decor or the mood of the party. The lid is made of food-grade, BPA free, prolypropylene which is heat tolerant. The strainer is tightly fixed to the lid.

Welcome to Good Iced Tea

To the uninitiated, ice tea is some brown powder from a jar or something you buy in a bottle which can be months old.  This simple elegant tea pitcher allows you to make iced tea out of our high-quality loose teas.  If you're looking for suggestions, we certainly have a few favorites to get you started.  You should also note that orders of more than $45 have free shipping, so buying a little tea to go with your pitcher may actually save you money.

Berry Berry- This is a caffeine-free herbal tea, made from elderberries and hibiscus.   It brews to a bright purple-pink tone, with a sweet berry taste.

Pina Colada- This tea tastes, quite simply, like summer.  It is a complex blend of coconut, mango, pineapple, and apples.  white peach summer iced tea loose tea

White Peach- This is a fresh, delicate tea.  White teas are much less bitter than greens or blacks, with a more subtle flavor.  That subtlety allows the peach notes of this tea to truly shine.  It's a sweet summer afternoon transformed into an antioxidant-rich tea.

Blue Sapphire- This is the tea for people who are looking for 'plain' tea.  This is an unflavored black tea, with a very middle-of-the-road profile.  Black teas can vary widely depending upon where they are grown.  These can range from very the bold and astringent Indian Ceylon to the more mild and sweet Chinese Keemun Panda #1.  Blue Sapphire is a Kenyan tea, and it's flavor is about as standard as you're going to find in our shop.

Black Currant- If you're playing the universal appeal angle, but still want something distinctly summery, this may be the tea for you.  Black currant is a traditionally English delight, with strong berry notes accompanied by a rich black tea.  It's a little bit sweet, a little bit savory, and every bit wonderful

Looking for the same pitcher, but just a little larger?

Other Uses

Because this ice tea pitcher is so gorgeous, it can be used as an ice water or wine carafe at your next function.  Simply use it with the lid off.  It's light weight its easy to use and pass around the table.  To make sweet tea, brew your tea hot, then add sugar before icing it, in order to allow the sugar to melt into the tea. A gentle stir with a long spoon or ladle will melt the sugar quickly.

Love this Pitcher

It is perfect for brewing my tea. I had one for about 5 years that recently broke. I immediately ordered a new one as I couldn’t imagine being without it.

Maria~ Life certainly is better knowing one can reward themselves daily with a glass of tea from their Mist Pitcher. I recently have multiplied my enjoyment by having multiple Mist pitchers in my fridge. One has my favorite tisane, another a sparky green tea and yet another a decaf black fruit tea. Options are a very good thing!

My new ice tea pitcher!

I'm in love with it. It brews hot and cold. I live my ice tea and it's so easy. Before bed I fill it with water, add my Good Life loose leaf tea and when I wake up it's ready to go. Delicious :)

Brandi~It all sounds so excellent but could we suggest you put the tea in the bottom of the pitcher when you are making it and then add the water? That gets the circulation going immediately.

this iced tea pitcher might change my life!

I love my new pitcher. It's really great that you can steep the tea either hot or cold, so if I remember the night before to fill the pitcher I can go cold, but in a pinch I can always boil the water in a kettle and go hot. The pitcher looks really nice and I like that it is tall and relatively narrow so it does not take up too much space in the fridge. I am a tea junkie so this makes it easy to have delicious iced tea available all day long as I'm working from home.

Neil, you are making the steeping of tea in your Mist more difficult than it needs to be. There are two simple ways to make tea in your Mist. The first method is for cold steeping which starts out by placing 2 heaping tablespoons of tea in the bottom of the pitcher and adding lukewarm water to the neck of the pitcher and putting the top on and placing it in your refrigerator for between 2-6 hours or overnight. The second method is used when you need the tea quickly. Again, 2 heaping tablespoons of tea are placed the the bottom of the pitcher and boiling water is added up to the bottom handle of the pitcher. Put the top on and allow the tea to steep for the number of minutes indicated on the bag (usually 5 minutes). When the time is up, add cooler water and pour the tea over ice. Viola! You have awesome tea!!
