Mother's Day is on the way!

Hello, tea babies! I say that as I don't know about you, but I am excitedly anticipating the quickly approaching holiday (almost two weeks, ah!), and lovely Mother's Day! We all have mothers in our lives. Whether it be your biological mother, a mother figure in your life, your grandmother, aunt, sister, friend, or anyone who holds the title of "mama", this year, May 12th, is a time to celebrate them, all the both big and little things that they have taught us, and all that they do for us.

In terms of tea, it is not unheard of for us to have customers come in and tell us about how their mothers introduced them to tea or fond memories that they recall of enjoying tea with their mother. As a child, my mother introduced my siblings and I to tea at a young age, and it began a lifelong love for the beverage. In today's blog post, we want to recommend a few teas for mom's to offer their children, as an alternative to high sugar, and often from concentrate, juices. We'll also, first, introduce an easy way to make these teas that ensures that you always have them on hand! We know our mom's don't have a ton of time to be sparing brewing tea so we want to save any free moments for more time with the kiddos.

If you relate to the above GIF, and feel as though your moments are shorter and fewer than those around you, yet still want to have yummy beverages for your little ones to sip on, fear not, we've got just the tea ware for you. Our Mist Pitcher is the absolute easiest way to make iced tea. To do so, all you need to do is cover the bottom of the pitcher with your tea of choice, fill the rest of the pitcher with water, then place it back in your fridge over night to steep, while you enjoy those wonderful but fleeting moments of sleep. In the morning, you and your little bundles of joy will be greeted with a full pitcher of goodness to be enjoyed all day long! One of our delicious teas, that is especially fun for kids to not only drink but also, to watch steep is our Three Flower Burst. This tea is not only delightfully delicious and light, but it actually really "blooms" as it steeps. As this is kind of a hard thing to picture, I'm going to include a gif below. Kids absolutely love watching this tea as it steeps and blooms within either the kettle or glass! Heck, I love watching this tea! It is very similar and reminiscent of the animal sponge capsules that I had as a kid and that I'm sure many of you remember. Oh, how I loved those!

Another very cool group of teas that we proudly carry are the tisanes! For those unfamiliar, tisane teas are teas that are comprised of dried fruits and herbs! What's even better is that all of our tisane teas are caffeine free and therefore will not keep you up at night! We, here at the shop, joke about how our tisane teas are great for kids as they are almost a natural Kool-Aid! (haha!). The natural sweet flavors of the dried fruits make them especially appealing to the palettes of children.

A few common favorites with the children are our Strawberry Kiwi, our Berry Berry, and our Last Mango in Paris. These teas are comprised of flavors that prove attractive to kids as they mirror most candy flavors. I'm sure that you can deduce that Strawberry Kiwi is made of dried strawberries and kiwis. It is absolutely delicious both warm, but also refreshing served cold and over ice!

Our Berry Berry is made of a medley of elderberry, hibiscus, raisin, and a baseline blueberry. While this may sound peculiar, children love the tanginess of the berry blend!

Last Mango in Paris, one of my personal favorites, blends the flavors of mango, orange, and apple, with the more flower notes of hibiscus and rosehips. This tea is definitely dominated by the more fruity notes. It is, in my opinion, best served cold. It is absolutely refreshing and reminds me of sweet summer days!

A couple other tisane teas that we have, that are not only caffeine free, but even promote sleep for your little ones are our Sleep Better and Gentle Slumber. These teas both contain chamomile which is widely known for it's calming properties. Again, I don't know about you, but by the end of some of these long days, I certainly need to steep a large cup of something to ease me into the evening!

If you all have found any teas that the little ones in your life prefer, please feel free to comment and share below! We absolutely love hearing from you and how you are enjoying tea! Stay safe and show some love to all the mamas out there, friends! - Kaytea :)

P.S. If you are shopping for a mom is your life this year, we have some fun deals coming your way! Make sure to follow us on social media (Instagram, Facebook) to be the first to know about these!
