Loose-Leaf Decaf Teas

The Best Decaffeinated Loose-Leaf Teas From Good Life Tea.

Caffeine can be an effective way to boost your energy when you first wake up, but too much of a good thing can become a bad thing. In the morning, a few cups of caffeinated tea are just what we need to get our day started. It gets you moving and gets you motivated to tackle your upcoming tasks. Since the first cup tasted so delicious, you make yourself another and another, and before you know it, you're hitting your caffeine threshold. That is why we offer delicious loose-leaf decaf teas. You can have a few delicious tasting cups while limiting your caffeine intake. Start your morning with our decaf English Breakfast Tea or delight your taste buds with our sweet decaf Peach Tea

Our general rule of thumb that we tell our in-store customers is that a cup of coffee has the same caffeine as three cups of tea.  Use this as a guide to better understand your caffeine limits.

Decaf tea is perfect in the afternoon or at bedtime. You can drink it without the worries of tossing and turning during the night or being over-caffeinated in the late afternoon. You get the same exact great taste but a lot less caffeine.

Our customers have also reported using night-time decaf tea as a way of making quiet conversation before bedtime. Some of our most popular teas are Hot Cinnamon Spice and Earl Grey, and our decaf Organic Green Tea is another great choice to calm your mind before you go to sleep.

Decaf Is Not Caffeine Free

Our premium loose-leaf decaf teas are decaffeinated using the CO2 method. This is the current gold standard, which preserves the tea leaves’ delicate flavors and aromas while keeping the leaves intact. Although this is the best method available, it does not remove 100% of the caffeine—expect up to 2% residual caffeine.  Just to keep it in perspective, remember the tea ratio to coffee ratio is 3 to 1.

In our store, we do have quite a few customers who report very high levels of caffeine intolerance, so while 2% may be negligible to some, we feel an obligation to disclose this fact. If you fall into this group, then you may be interested in our totally caffeine-free herbal teas. They are called herbal teas because the tea leaves naturally lack caffeine.

A deep blend of Masala Spices to perk you up. Years, miles, blood, and more have gone into the spice trade; one of modern history's most fascinating, long-borne, and travel-rich sagas. Directly tying culinary, political, military worlds and more, the spice trade is a tale based as much on exploration as on profit. From this history we earn the endless benefit of knowledge of far-flung places. Ceylon, or Sri Lanka, is one with a particular tie to simple, satisfying, hardy teas. Of black, white, and green, black is – as it is worldwide – the most prevalent ceylon tisanal. Here in our Decaf Black Spice tea we have a fine, complex example. It features ginger root, cinnamon bark, cloves, cardamom pods. The fragrance of this Decaf Black Spice tea has a character of its own, tantalizing before the first sip and begging the question: how could there possible be balance in a flavour collection with so many robust...
Decaf Mango Loose Tea

Mango is the fruit of the gods.  Our Decaf Mango Black loose leaf tea is made with dried mango pieces and premium Ceylon black tea from the island nation of Sri Lanka. It is a delightful tea drinking experience, with a juicy texture and creamy-dry finish. Great mystic poets throughout the ages have sung its praises. Mughal emperor Akbar ordered the planting of one hundred thousand of its trees. In Hinduism, the perfectly ripe fruit is often held by Lord Ganesha as a symbol of the attainment of perfection. In many cultures it represents fertility, bliss, even immortality.  Not just any tea is worthy enough to marry into such a lineage. But we think this Ceylon black is up to the challenge. After all, it was grown not far from the rustling leaves of tall mango trees on the mango-native southeast Asian island of Sri Lanka. Our Decaf Mango Black blends the clean citrus taste of premium...
