G'day Roasted Yerba Mate!

G'day Roasted Yerba Mate!

Good morning, beau-tea-ful people!

As stated in my previous post, I have been recently working to transition from being an espresso enthusiast to more of a tea habitué.

In this journey I am finding many flavors I enjoy for different points throughout the day (more to come ☺), but also that I am missing my little turbo boost of caffeine in the morning.

To the surprise of many, including myself, many teas do in fact pack the same caffeine contents as its counterpart, coffee. (This proves important to know when you are making your nighttime teas). Yet, I still was looking for something with a little more “oomph” in the morning as I make my shift from coffee to tea. I was then, of course, delighted to find that we at Good Life Tea have the perfect solution to this!

Often times, people like myself looking for the bridge to Tea-ribithia, will turn to the tea we have here known as Roasted Yerba Mate. This tea features a unique flavor with notes of caramel, toffee, and coffee. It is an herbal tea that originates in Brazil and is unusually high in mateine, which has a very similar chemical structure to caffeine and embodies only its good qualities.

Gaucho TeaIn discovering this wonderful tea I began to research a little more about it and found that I was helping myself more than I realized. It was originally known to be consumed by the “gauchos”, or cowboys, of South America to help them early in the morning while herding cattle. This Roasted Yerba Mate not only gives me the early morning gusto I so crave but also provides me with 24 vitamins and minerals that I need throughout the day and additionally 15 amino acids. One of the notable distinctions between a cup of coffee and this tea as well is that the Mate tea helps to give you the energy boost you ache for yet does not have the crash coupled with it for later in the day. We can attribute this to the differences in chemical structure, previously mentioned, and how they interact within your body.

Another point of interest that sparks some to enjoy this tea are its appetite reducing properties as well as its reputation as a diuretic. Consumers more often than not find that the consumption of the Roasted Yerba Mate can suppress their appetites throughout the day and deter them from snacking. It has proved to be a good aid in dieting regiments along with its diuretic properties that help to cleanse the body of built up toxins.

Mate is also known to strengthen the immune system, improve mental alertness as well as acuity, reduce blood pressure and cholesterol, and more holistically, improve creativity. These are only a few of the recently thought of pros to drinking this tea and while I have only just become acquainted with it, I can tell you from personal experience that I love the effects!
